Our Lead CSR Lisa has been working in Animal Care, Management, and Rescue for over 20 years. She has BS & MA degrees from Maryland in Biology, Communications, and Education, and holds certification as a Canine MyoManipulative Functional Massage Therapist. Her fur family are all rescues: a Border Collie, Springer Spaniel mix, Pomeranian, and a sassy cat of dubious background. She also fosters and trains for several of our local Rescues. Lisa’s passion is educating pet owners and working with behavioral needs canines and felines.
Catherine “Cat” O’Rourke began her career in veterinary medicine at the age of 20, displaying commitment and passion for animal care from a young age. Her foundational training took place under the guidance of Dr. John Sangiorgio in New York City, where she gained essential skills and knowledge in the field. At 30, Cat relocated to Florida, seeking new opportunities and expanding her expertise within the industry. For many years, she has been a valued member of the team at Old 41 Animal Hospital. Her long standing service has allowed her to build strong relationships with numerous patients and their families, establishing her as a trusted and familiar presence in the community. When outside the veterinary setting, Cat enjoys reading, cooking and enjoying the SWFL lifestyle.
Dr. Mackenzie Gray earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Kansas State University 2023. Upon graduation, she moved back to her home-state of Florida to complete a small animal rotating internship and has been primarily practicing small animal emergency medicine in Southwest Florida since then.
She has special interests in analgesia (pain management) and the important role that it plays in successful wound recovery. During veterinary school she published research exploring methods to improve the clinical efficacy of butorphanol for analgesia in dogs. Ultimately, she received a first-place award for her presentation on this subject during Phi Zeta Research Day at Kansas State University in 2021.
Dr. Gray is passionate about educating owners and guiding them to become active and knowledgeable participants in their pet’s healthcare. She recognizes that pet owners and veterinarians are a team with the shared goal of ensuring their pets live long, healthy, and happy lives.
Dr. Gray shares her home with her three German Shepherds, a Husky, and five cats. During her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her pets, getting out in nature, and cultivating her small, yet growing, succulent collection. She is also a self-proclaimed ‘foodie’ that enjoys visiting local restaurants but is also quite adept in the kitchen herself after learning how to cook at an early age from her parents. Having grown up in Naples, she is excited to be back to her Florida roots and to support her community through providing high-quality and compassionate veterinary services.
Taylor is a Certified Vet Tech (CVT) and has been caring for our furry friends at Old 41 AH for a number of years. Hers is the friendly face that calms our patients and explains things to their owners. Taylor started in the veterinary field at an early age, attended St. Petersburg College, earned her CVT certification, and has passed the prestigious Veterinary Technician National Exam. She has experience in both neurology and general practice. When not working, Taylor enjoys line dancing, reading, and outdoor activities. Her fur family consists of a rambunctious Border Collie, a dignified senior rescue dog, an assortment of reptiles, and multiple ducks.
